IT LOOKS LIKE THE PRODUCE PRICES WILL STAY HIGH THROUGH APRIL.
WE WERE HOPING FOR A BREAK IN PRICES BY THE END OF MARCH, BUT THAT IS HOPEFUL AT BEST.
WE NEED TO CONTINUE OFFERING SUGGESTIONS FOR ALTERNATIVES.
MANY OF THE LARGE CHAINS HAVE TAKEN TOMATOES OFF THE MENU FOR NOW. QUALITY IS MEDIOCRE, SIZING VERY RANDOM.
TOMATOES, LETTUCE, CUCUMBER, GREEN BEANS AND SQUASHES.
THIS CHEFS SUGGESTION IS: USE THE INGREDIENTS THAT OFFER THE BEST FLAVOR AND QUALITY. DON'T BUY INFERIOR PRODUCTS JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO PUT A TOMATO ON THAT SANDWICH. WE NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK.
LOOK TO THIS BLOG FOR MORE IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS.
